Getting here
How to Reach Shilha
Shilha is a small village at about 2,000 m in the Parvati Valley, Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh. It sits above the valley road beyond Manikaran, on the way to Barshaini. Every journey here passes through Bhuntar and Kasol first.
Roads, buses, and timings change with the season. Message us when you reach Kasol or Manikaran, and we'll tell you the best way up that day.

Getting to the valley
Bus, Flight, or Train
By overnight bus from Delhi
The way most people come. Government (HRTC) and private Volvo buses leave Delhi in the evening and reach Bhuntar or Kasol the next morning, in about 12–14 hours. Book a seat that goes all the way to Kasol if you can.
By air
The nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu–Manali Airport), with flights from Delhi. From Bhuntar it's about an hour and a half by taxi to Kasol, or longer by local bus. Flights here are often cancelled in bad weather, so keep a backup day.
By train
There's no railway in the valley. The nearest practical station is Chandigarh. From there, buses run to Bhuntar and Kasol in about 8–10 hours.
From Manali
Take a bus or taxi down to Bhuntar (about 1.5–2 hours), then follow the Parvati Valley road up to Kasol.
Good to know
Before You Arrive
Bring cash
There are ATMs in Kasol and Manikaran, but they often run out of cash in the busy season. Above that, it's cash only. Take out what you need in Bhuntar or before.
Phone signal
Signal works along most of the valley road. It fades once you start walking up, and disappears on the high treks. Each trek page says what to expect.
Arrive a day early
After an overnight bus, a night in the valley helps you rest and get used to the altitude. Kasol and Manikaran have plenty of guesthouses. On the Sar Pass trek, your first night is already with us in Shilha.
Respect the villages
These are people's homes. Dress modestly near temples, ask before photographing people, and carry your rubbish back down with you.
